Davi Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Marco Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luizinho Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Aguiar having to interfere. Davi Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Davi Freire's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marco Aguiar was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Rio Grande Do Sul's Marcel Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renatinho Carneiro in the 26th minute of play. Rio Grande Do Sul's Luizinho Teles got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aranau's Marco Aguiar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizinho Teles in the 54th minute of play. 56 minutes into the game, Luizinho Teles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Marco Aguiar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Renatinho Carneiro came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Aranau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renatinho Carneiro couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Davi Freire in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marco Aguiar saved Aranau from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renatinho Carneiro in the 68th minute of play forced Rio Grande Do Sul's goalkeeper Marcel Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgard Xavier during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 73 played minutes Aranau got a freekick which was hit by Edgard Xavier. After having played for 85 minutes, Davi Freire managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rio Grande Do Sul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Davi Freire was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rio Grande Do Sul walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
