Raizama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Orindiuva EC the free kick. 39 minutes into the game, one of Raizama:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Zé Carlos Martins had in the 42ndth minute some difficulties stopping Denílson Carioca's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Amadeu Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Baltazar Neto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Carlos Martins having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
