SHIKADAI FC's Alfredão Perez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save SHIKADAI FC from getting a goal against them. José Carlos Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dalmo de Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Souza having to interfere. Miguel Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Carlos Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Rogério Tande came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Gravatahy SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogério Tande couldn't finish the play. In the 25th minute, Rubinho Moreira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Miguel Souza was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. José Carlos Martins might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miguel Souza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Carlos Martins ran back to his position shaking his head. Miguel Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Carlos Martins in the 29th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Dalmo de Lima notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Gravatahy SS's Miguel Souza. Miguel Souza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Carlos Martins in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Miguel Souza saved Gravatahy SS from getting behind. A collision led to Gravatahy SS getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Alfredinho Freitas hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Gravatahy SS's Válter Paes got a free kick in the 38th minute. SHIKADAI FC's Arí Antunes got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luís Fábio Rosado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SHIKADAI FC's José Carlos Martins got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Osvaldo Senna hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Jacinto Botelho might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alfredão Perez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jacinto Botelho ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rubinho Moreira to make the kick off. Alfredão Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Secco in the 56th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, SHIKADAI FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rogério Tande came free, but Alfredão Perez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 59th minute João Secco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredão Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miguel Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rubinho Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. 65 minutes into the game, José Carlos Martins recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Miguel Souza. José Carlos Martins showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. 69 minutes into the game, Luís Fábio Rosado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SHIKADAI FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gravatahy SS the free kick. When Gravatahy SS's Rogério Tande in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SHIKADAI FC's goalie prevented a goal. Denílson da Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Miguel Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute Rogério Tande shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredão Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 81 played minutes Gravatahy SS got a freekick which was hit by Válter Paes.
