ASTRT's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Augusto Martins was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Henrique Donatello didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 10th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. A hard shot 15 in the game by Germano Sabóia from a close distance when the talented Henrique Donatello managed to make a qualified save. PALMEIRAS's players were relieved. Germano Sabóia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Henrique Donatello having to make a save. Henrique Donatello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Germano Sabóia, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After 22 minutes, Marcelo de Brito mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ASTRT and the PALMEIRAS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of PALMEIRAS booed when ASTRT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo de Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute Gino de Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrique Donatello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of ASTRT booed when PALMEIRAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorival Dionísio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Germano Sabóia succeeded in the game's 31st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. 35 minutes into the match, PALMEIRAS's goal looked a bit too open when Germano Sabóia came free, but Henrique Donatello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Haroldo Berger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Germano Sabóia was the one to do the kick off. Germano Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Germano Sabóia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute, Percy Linares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 73 played minutes PALMEIRAS got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Recife. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Germano Sabóia put it in 5-1 from a short distance just to the right of Henrique Donatello. Henrique Donatello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gino de Queirós in the 80th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Germano Sabóia in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henrique Donatello saved PALMEIRAS from getting behind. In the 84th minute, Germano Sabóia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ASTRT fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. 89 minutes into the match, PALMEIRAS's goal looked a bit too open when Germano Sabóia came free, but Henrique Donatello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arlindo Trigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Donatello having to interfere. In the 94th minute Arlindo Trigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrique Donatello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ASTRT's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
