Spectators: 5010 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 10) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Rogério Tande got the match started through his kick off. Rogério Tande took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Henrique Donatello. Henrique Donatello dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Válter Paes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Henrique Donatello. PALMEIRAS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Rogério Tande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Secco might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henrique Donatello. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Secco ran back to his position shaking his head. After 12 played minutes Gravatahy SS got a freekick which was hit by Válter Paes. Wilson Tasso, 13 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Augusto Martins in the 14th minute of play forced Gravatahy SS's goalkeeper Miguel Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute, Fernandinho Pimenta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rogério Tande fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Donatello having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Gravatahy SS's zone, Mário Rocha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Souza came out of the goal and Mário Rocha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dorival Dionísio hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 43rd minute, Gravatahy SS's Jacinto Botelho seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jacinto Botelho the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Gravatahy SS protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jacinto Botelho had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João Augusto Martins made a kick off. João Augusto Martins took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Miguel Souza. Miguel Souza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Mário Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Souza having to interfere. Gravatahy SS's Miguel Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Augusto Martins in the 65th minute of play. Jonas Duarte hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. When Percy Linares came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the PALMEIRAS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Percy Linares couldn't finish the play. The PALMEIRAS fans' excitement grew in the 75th match minute when PALMEIRAS's Mário Rocha looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Henrique Donatello made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Secco in the 79th minute. João Secco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. PALMEIRAS's Henrique Donatello proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save PALMEIRAS from getting a goal against them. A collision led to PALMEIRAS getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. João Augusto Martins hit a great ball. After 94 played minutes PALMEIRAS got a freekick which was hit by Mário Rocha. When João Secco came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Gravatahy SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Secco couldn't finish the play.
