A very good chance for a goal. Ademar de Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesinha Salgado having to interfere. Cesinha Salgado came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Espinheiro SC's Ademar de Mendonça. But to his dismay, Ademar de Mendonça quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 29th minute Ademar de Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesinha Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reinaldo Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Tony Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ademar de Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 41st minute, Ademar de Mendonça left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Espinheiro SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2.

Ademar de Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Perivaldo Terra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cesinha Salgado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. After having played for 57 minutes, Ademar de Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Espinheiro SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ademar de Mendonça was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FENIX FUTEBOL CLUB's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ademar de Mendonça was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Espinheiro SC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
