Edmílson Negri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Zanette, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Percival Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Norberto Nunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Red Crabs FC booed when AfrcBR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Tande didn't get a good kick on the ball. Evandro Lopes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 15th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 19th minute Paulo José Mello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Nunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victor Zanette's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edmílson Negri read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Edmílson Negri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Zanette in the 25th minute of the match. AfrcBR's Norberto Nunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo José Mello in the 26th minute of play. Amílton Guerra struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Edmílson Negri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AfrcBR. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Red Crabs FC's goalkeeper Edmílson Negri, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Paulo José Mello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Norberto Nunes made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Percival Cunha sent off a good shot on target. After 36 minutes of play, Red Crabs FC's Percival Cunha made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Norberto Nunes was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 46 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for AfrcBR! Evandro Lopes shot the penalty kick right outside the post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Amílton Guerra was the one to do the kick off. Amílton Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmílson Negri having to interfere. Percival Cunha might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Norberto Nunes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Percival Cunha ran back to his position shaking his head. Norberto Nunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo José Mello, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. 57 minutes into the match, Paulo José Mello notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of AfrcBR's Norberto Nunes. Norberto Nunes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Paulo José Mello managed to get in a good position for a shot. Red Crabs FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo José Mello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 75th minute, AfrcBR's Amílton Guerra ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Edmílson Negri. Edmílson Negri yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. In the 81st minute, Amílton Guerra reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Edmílson Negri. The goal made the score 2-2. Kaká Prado's late challenge caught a AfrcBR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kaká Prado helped the player get up and apologised. Kaká Prado hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Tomé Nogueira was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 85th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 88 played minutes Red Crabs FC got a freekick which was hit by Paulo José Mello. Amílton Guerra might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edmílson Negri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amílton Guerra ran back to his position shaking his head. If Victor Zanette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Red Crabs FC's Paulo José Mello got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
