In the 8th minute of the match Mateus Pinho sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luizinho Cerezo skillfully saved the ball. Pedrinho Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute, Benê Custódio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luizinho Cerezo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. A collision led to Pimenteiral getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Sandrinho Dionísio hit a great ball. In the 34th match minute, Pimenteiral was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuca Novaes to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 36 minutes, Perivaldo Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Espinheiro SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Perivaldo Terra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Mateus Pinho came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Espinheiro SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mateus Pinho couldn't finish the play. Espinheiro SC's Tony Dracena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuca Novaes in the 44th minute of play. After the first half Espinheiro SC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 53rd match minute, Pimenteiral was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuca Novaes to maneuver through the defense. Perivaldo Terra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 61 minutes of play, Espinheiro SC's Perivaldo Terra made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luizinho Cerezo was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Pimenteiral booed when Espinheiro SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Furtado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tony Dracena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Perivaldo Ortiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jairo Sabóia charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jairo Sabóia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jairo Sabóia kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. 76 minutes into the match, Samuca Novaes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tony Dracena. Espinheiro SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Samuca Novaes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Perivaldo Terra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Luizinho Cerezo made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedrão Montenegro during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tony Dracena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuca Novaes, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Beto Soeiro hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. If Pedrinho Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute, Pimenteiral's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Perivaldo Terra fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 94 minutes into the game, Elder Souto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Tony Dracena was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
