The ball went over the crossbar instead. 5 minutes into the game, Elder Souto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pimenteiral's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Super Campeões the free kick. The supporters of Super Campeões booed when Pimenteiral was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elder Souto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Super Campeões's goalkeeper Guga Novaes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 9th match minute, Super Campeões was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Gustavo Barral to maneuver through the defense. Jeremias Martins struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Luizinho Cerezo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Super Campeões. After 14 played minutes Pimenteiral got a freekick which was hit by Perivaldo Ortiz. Guga Novaes made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Elder Souto sent off a good shot on target. Samuca Novaes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guga Novaes having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Pimenteiral fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! In the 30thth minute of the game Samuca Novaes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Super Campeões's Guga Novaes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Samuca Novaes in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Guga Novaes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 39 minutes of play, Super Campeões's Jeremias Martins made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luizinho Cerezo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Super Campeões were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Guga Novaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandrinho Dionísio, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Guga Novaes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuca Novaes in the 58th minute of play. Guga Novaes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuca Novaes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Super Campeões's Luizinho Cerezo threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fabiano Paraense, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Guga Novaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuca Novaes, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After 63 played minutes Super Campeões got a freekick which was hit by Rafael de Queiroz. Jeremias Martins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 74 minutes into the game, one of Pimenteiral:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. A collision led to Pimenteiral getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Marcos Nogueira hit a great ball. After 86 played minutes Super Campeões got a freekick which was hit by Douglas Moura. After a defensive mix-up in Pimenteiral's zone, Fabiano Paraense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luizinho Cerezo came out of the goal and Fabiano Paraense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elder Souto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fabiano Paraense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizinho Cerezo having to interfere. Fabiano Paraense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 101st minute. Luizinho Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Super Campeões could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Pimenteiral throughout the match.
