After having played for 39 minutes, Francisco Sanches managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carnaubas SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Sanches was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Sanches in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Umberto Gaspar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 46th play minute Ernesto Matos came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Umberto Gaspar. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Vitinho Machado made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Carnaubas SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gualter Linhares to maneuver through the defense. After 72 played minutes Norusqa Lokomotiv got a freekick which was hit by Percy Furlan. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
