Possante de Jacó's Lucas Rezende proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Possante de Jacó from getting a goal against them. In the 44th minute, Simão Pena ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yuri Maia was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Simão Pena was the one to do the kick off. Lucas Rezende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Túlio Pombal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Simão Pena in the 62ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Yuri Maia, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simão Pena in the 66th minute of play forced Nazarezinho SS's goalkeeper Yuri Maia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Augusto Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yuri Maia having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Nazarezinho SS's zone, Simão Pena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yuri Maia came out of the goal and Simão Pena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yuri Maia was a little too slow when Simão Pena got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 1-3. Júlio Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucas Rezende having to interfere. 80 minutes into the match, Nazarezinho SS's goalkeeper Yuri Maia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Augusto Carvalho. In the 85th minute, Simão Pena reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Yuri Maia. The goal made the score 1-5. In the 91st minute, Giovani Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Simão Pena came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Possante de Jacó fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simão Pena couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Possante de Jacó's Simão Pena slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Yuri Maia. That made the score 1-6 after 95 minutes of play. Possante de Jacó's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
