Carnaubas SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Giovani Cardozo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Carnaubas SC booed when VALENÇA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruninho Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Custódio might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Júnior Santana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Custódio ran back to his position shaking his head. Júnior Santana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Gustavo Sarmento in the 35th minute of play. Luiz Gustavo Sarmento might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Júnior Santana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luiz Gustavo Sarmento ran back to his position shaking his head. Júnior Santana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Gustavo Sarmento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Carnaubas SC's goalkeeper Júnior Santana, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 68th minute Ernesto Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Augusto Sabóia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Francisco Sanches scored 1-1 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Augusto Sabóia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Carnaubas SC's Júnior Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Custódio in the 89th minute of play.
