When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Geovanni Fantini took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Nestor Valle to make any attempt to save it. In the 10th minute Raí Ramalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manoel Sampaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcinho Campidelis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 12th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Manoel Sampaio. Fluminense FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Boston Celtics SC's Sílvio Luiz Nunes got a free kick in the 13th minute. With a little luck, Boston Celtics SC's Nestor Valle got control of the ball when Dida Guimarães tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paulino Richie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulino Richie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Valle having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Boston Celtics SC's zone, Maximiliano Demesio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nestor Valle came out of the goal and Maximiliano Demesio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulino Richie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Nestor Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, Boston Celtics SC's goal looked a bit too open when Maximiliano Demesio came free, but Nestor Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nestor Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Demesio in the 42nd minute of play. Paulino Richie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Paulino Richie made the kick off in the second half. Boston Celtics SC's Nestor Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Demesio in the 56th minute of play. Maximiliano Demesio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Maximiliano Demesio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Paulino Richie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Valle having to interfere. If Maximiliano Demesio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulino Richie scored 2-1 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nestor Valle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Maximiliano Demesio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Nestor Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 77 minutes of play, Fluminense FC's Paulino Richie made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nestor Valle was left in no man's land by his defense there! 80 minutes into the game, Dedé Moraes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fluminense FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boston Celtics SC the free kick. Paulino Richie's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nestor Valle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Emílio Nunes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fluminense FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boston Celtics SC the free kick. In the 84th match minute, Fluminense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emílio Nunes to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Cido Tinoco in the 85th minute really tested Manoel Sampaio's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Maximiliano Demesio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Valle having to interfere. When Fluminense FC's Paulino Richie in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Boston Celtics SC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 91st minute Paulino Richie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Maximiliano Demesio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulino Richie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Valle having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Fluminense FC fully deserved thier win.
