With a left leg Murillo Luz saved Ajax from getting behind. 36 minutes into the match, Sonserinos's goalkeeper Roberto Leal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodrigo Mazza. In the 39th minute of the match, Hortêncio Braga got a very nice opportunity to score, but Roberto Leal was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Rodrigo Mazza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roberto Leal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sonserinos's zone, Rodrigo Mazza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roberto Leal came out of the goal and Rodrigo Mazza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute, Ajax's Rodrigo Mazza dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1.

The wind increased when Murillo Couto made the kick off in the second half. If Hortêncio Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Murillo Couto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murillo Luz having to interfere. Murillo Couto charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Murillo Couto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 56 played minutes Sonserinos got a freekick which was hit by Murillo Couto. Murillo Couto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Murillo Luz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Roberto Leal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hortêncio Braga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cléberson Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Hermínio Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. In the 77th minute Bruninho Dante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ajax's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodrigo Mazza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Roberto Leal came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Ajax's Rodrigo Mazza. But to his dismay, Rodrigo Mazza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ajax had played much better football throughout.
