The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Flavinho Munhoz charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Flavinho Munhoz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 5 played minutes Tupi F.C. JF got a freekick which was hit by Flavinho Munhoz. After 6 played minutes, Real Iputinga's Nilton Fernandez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Simão Moreno came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Real Iputinga reached it. Simão Moreno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renato de Amaral in the 8th minute of the match. After 10 played minutes Renato de Amaral rounded Tupi F.C. JF's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Real Iputinga's Vânderson Carneiro got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by César Fernandes in the 17th minute of play forced Real Iputinga's goalkeeper Luiz Guilherme de Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute Renato de Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simão Moreno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Fred Netto fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tupi F.C. JF's protests and gave Fred Netto a yellow card for diving instead. Fred Netto hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After having played for 26 minutes, Adelino Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tupi F.C. JF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adelino Moreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 29 minutes into the game, Adelino Moreira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Luiz Guilherme de Senna was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 32nd minute Renato de Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simão Moreno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Renato de Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Simão Moreno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Vânderson Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Guilherme de Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fred Netto in the 39th minute of play. Simão Moreno had great luck who in the 43rdth minute grab hold of the ball when Renato de Amaral from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Nilton Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Renato de Amaral made the kick off in the second half. When Renato de Amaral fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Iputinga's protests and gave Renato de Amaral a yellow card for diving instead. 55 minutes into the match, Real Iputinga's goalkeeper Luiz Guilherme de Senna had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by César Fernandes. After 55 minutes, Romário Neto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Iputinga and the Tupi F.C. JF players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Real Iputinga getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Romário Neto hit a great ball. If Renato de Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute, Flavinho Munhoz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Real Iputinga's Renato de Amaral in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tupi F.C. JF's goalie prevented a goal. In the 70th minute, César Fernandes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luiz Guilherme de Senna was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. 74 minutes into the match, Tupi F.C. JF's goal looked a bit too open when Renato de Amaral came free, but Simão Moreno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the game, Renato de Amaral cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Simão Moreno was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Vânderson Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vânderson Carneiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Renato de Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chants of Tupi F.C. JF echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Real Iputinga had held the ball for most of the match.
