The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 9th minute of the game. One of Ajax:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tupi F.C. JF:s goal. A collision led to Tupi F.C. JF getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Flavinho Munhoz hit a great ball. 20 minutes into the game, Hortêncio Braga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Simão Moreno was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 26th minute, Hortêncio Braga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ajax fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Mazza in the 29th minute of play forced Tupi F.C. Simão Moreno came out of the goal and Hortêncio Braga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Rodrigo Mazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adelino Moreira to strike the kick off in the second half. Rodrigo Mazza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão Moreno having to interfere. Rodrigo Mazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tupi F.C. JF's Simão Moreno proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Tupi F.C. JF from getting a goal against them. Simão Moreno didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bruninho Dante went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-4 was the resulting score. Murillo Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from César Fernandes in the 98th minute of play. Ajax's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
