Caiubi SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Academia Palestrina the free kick. The supporters of Academia Palestrina booed when Caiubi SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Eduardo Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maicon Neto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wesley Carneiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. With a left leg Maicon Neto saved Caiubi SC from getting behind. Laércio Passos's late challenge caught a Academia Palestrina's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee ignored Caiubi SC's protests and gave Dráuzio Abreu a yellow card for diving instead. If Rodrigo Peixoto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. Maicon Neto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Academia Palestrina had won after a very even match.
