Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcel Motta in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredinho Cardozo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Frederico Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dalmo Correia during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 34 minutes into the match, So Canelas's goal looked a bit too open when Frederico Pena came free, but Luiz Guilherme Aparecido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
