When Washington Araújo fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pirajai EC's protests and gave Washington Araújo a yellow card for diving instead. Washington Araújo hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. The supporters of Pirajai EC booed when Caiubi SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dida Cavalcante didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Caiubi SC fully deserved thier win.
