When Luso Carioca's Júnior da Fonseca, in the 6th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Luso Carioca. Paulão Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. João Francisco de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raphael de Sousa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Richard de Amorim in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute, Paulão Sousa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. João Francisco de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulão Sousa in the 26th minute of play. After 27 played minutes Luso Carioca got a freekick which was hit by Cipriano Amaral. After 28 played minutes, Remo's Gilmar Marquez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper João Francisco de Medeiros came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Remo reached it. Luso Carioca's João Francisco de Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ismael Alagoano in the 30th minute of play. The supporters of Remo booed when Luso Carioca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cipriano Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. Júnior da Fonsecas short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Raphael de Sousa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. João Francisco de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Alagoano in the 46th minute of play.

The wind increased when Ismael Alagoano made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Richard de Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot. Luso Carioca's supporters rose to their feet, but Richard de Amorim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raphael de Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 57th minute, Cipriano Amaral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 63 minutes into the match, Richard de Amorim had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Raphael de Sousa. Remo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Richard de Amorim was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. If Richard de Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raphael de Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard de Amorim in the 93rd minute of play. Luso Carioca's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
