Spectators: 7231 (Terracing: 5425, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) Piaca EC's Júnior Carioca started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Walmir Dante came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the MarcoBH fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walmir Dante couldn't finish the play. The supporters of MarcoBH booed when Piaca EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldir Prado didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6th minute Hílton Paulista suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Régis Godoi hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Júnior Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuca Paiva having to interfere. Richard Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuca Paiva having to interfere. In the 13th match minute, MarcoBH was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulysses Fantini to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 18 minutes, Júnior Carioca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piaca EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Júnior Carioca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. MarcoBH's Samuca Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Castro in the 20th minute of play. Samuca Paiva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Júnior Carioca's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. 23 minutes into the match, Piaca EC's goalkeeper Edgard Ferraz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walmir Dante. In the 25th minute, Júnior Carioca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Júnior Carioca got free in front of the goal in the 29th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Samuca Paiva was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Júnior Carioca struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Samuca Paiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piaca EC. Júnior Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Samuca Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Samuca Paiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júnior Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Walmir Dante was the one to do the kick off. Samuca Paiva made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Richard Castro sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Júnior Carioca took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Samuca Paiva to make any attempt to save it. Samuca Paiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júnior Carioca, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. 66 minutes into the match, Piaca EC's Júnior Carioca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Samuca Paiva narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 69 minutes into the game, Walmir Dante cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Richard Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Samuca Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júnior Carioca in the 82nd minute of play forced MarcoBH's goalkeeper Samuca Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in MarcoBH's zone, Richard Castro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuca Paiva came out of the goal and Richard Castro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the final whistle sounded Piaca EC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than MarcoBH.
