To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 33 minutes into the match, Garrote's goal looked a bit too open when Elias Quintal came free, but Emanuel Damião reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th match minute, Garrote was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Bottaro to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Quintal in the 41st minute of play forced Garrote's goalkeeper Emanuel Damião to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elias Quintal to make the kick off. Rudi van Nistelrooij recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emanuel Damião took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Quintal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elias Quintal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Emanuel Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Sassafraz booed when Garrote was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Germano Munhoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Sassafraz's Natã Rezende got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Dagoberto Vergílio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rudi van Nistelrooij, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 90 minutes into the game, Claudio Bottaro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Garrote's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sassafraz the free kick. 89 minutes into the game, one of Garrote:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 91st minute there was a penalty for Sassafraz. Deivid Toscano stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Emanuel Damião. 2-1.
