In the 22nd minute, Emanuel França got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Germano Pombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dairel's goalkeeper Oscar Pernambucano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 45th minute, Elias Quintal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sassafraz fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emanuel França stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Dairel got a freekick which was hit by Jean Prestes. Rafa Trigo's late challenge caught a Sassafraz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rafa Trigo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Dairel getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Rafa Trigo hit a great ball. After having played for 64 minutes, Natã Rezende managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sassafraz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Natã Rezende was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Elias Quintal sped through Dairel's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Oscar Pernambucano. The audience was convinced that Elias Quintal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oscar Pernambucano was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Oscar Pernambucano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Quintal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elias Quintal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oscar Pernambucano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Sassafraz's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
