The referee ignored Cosmos Internacional Club's protests and gave Róbson Magalhães a yellow card for diving instead. After some careless play in the Cosmos Internacional Club defense, Cauã Rosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nando Ramos. The Cosmos Internacional Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nando Ramos should have stopped the shot. Cauã Rosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nando Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Corrêa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Salvavida's Inácio Leme got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
