João Adolfo Maciel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernani Guimarães having to interfere. A collision led to ABA SOCCER CLUB getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Kiko Matorin hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in ABA SOCCER CLUB's zone, Abelardo Souto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hernani Guimarães came out of the goal and Abelardo Souto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. João Adolfo Maciel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Hernani Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Jonas Nascimento fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 26th minute, Bebeto de Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Samuca Mello placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After a rather tough play, ABA SOCCER CLUB's Kiko Matorin got a free kick in the 38th minute. Hernani Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abelardo Souto in the 40th minute of the match. Alexsandro Rossi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Luís Gustavo Prata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hernani Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abelardo Souto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If João Adolfo Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Adolfo Maciel was the one to do the kick off. After 51 minutes, Antônio Carlos Félix mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ABA SOCCER CLUB and the Olarias players grew even worse after the yellow card. Antônio Carlos Félix hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. João Adolfo Maciel got in the 53rd a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Hernani Guimarães handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Hernani Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Adolfo Maciel in the 55th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Adolfo Maciel in the 57th minute of play forced ABA SOCCER CLUB's goalkeeper Hernani Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hernani Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Adolfo Maciel in the 64th minute of the match. Chico Meireles received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, João Adolfo Maciel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olarias's supporters rose to their feet, but João Adolfo Maciel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hernani Guimarães breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abelardo Souto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Hernani Guimarães made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Olarias's Flávio Bueno got a free kick in the 77th minute. Alexsandro Rossi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Alexsandro Rossi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Gustavo Prata. Olarias's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alexsandro Rossi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. ABA SOCCER CLUB's Alexsandro Rossi got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
