Alberto Corrêas short, quick shot in the 9thth minute got Miguel Esteves to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Corrêa got free with Miguel Esteves in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Silvério Barbosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júlio Peres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Alberto Corrêa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Miguel Esteves, 2-0. Miguel Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inácio Leme, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Décio Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvério Barbosa having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Júlio Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Décio Moura to strike the kick off in the second half. Décio Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvério Barbosa having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Sydney de Salles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 58th minute, Décio Moura got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Décio Moura came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Ana maria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Décio Moura couldn't finish the play. In the 64th minute, Robinho Neiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 68 played minutes Ana maria got a freekick which was hit by Robinho Neiva. The supporters of Salvavida booed when Ana maria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardinho Jacinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Ana maria's goal looked a bit too open when Murilo Barreto came free, but Miguel Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 82 played minutes Ana maria got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Peres. Salvavida's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
