After 32 played minutes Mamoes EC got a freekick which was hit by Elder Fontes. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Válter Moura to make the kick off. Dedê Ribeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elder Fontes in the 53rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Mamoes EC defense, Arlindo de Lima kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ramón Reis. The Mamoes EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ramón Reis should have stopped the shot.
