Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Aílton Guerra made the kick off which started today's match. 5 minutes into the match, I.M.L's goalkeeper Sidnei Ferraz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Giovani Alves. Flavinho Corrêa kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aílton Guerra in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Chiquinho Paes saved Geral Grêmio from getting behind. Aílton Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Chiquinho Paes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Hernani Cerezo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With 17 minutes on the clock, Sérgio Gerber commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 16th minute of the game. One of I.M.L:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Geral Grêmio:s goal. When the match had been going on for 19 minutes, Geral Grêmio's Otávio Ceresso got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Sidnei Ferraz. After having played for 24 minutes, Giovani Alves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Geral Grêmio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giovani Alves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chiquinho Paes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anderson de Moraes in the 25th minute of play. With a little luck, I.M.L's Sidnei Ferraz got control of the ball when Giovani Alves tried to sneak it across the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, I.M.L's goal looked a bit too open when José Pedro Santos came free, but Sidnei Ferraz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Giovani Alves struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Sidnei Ferraz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Geral Grêmio. The audience was convinced that José Pedro Santos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sidnei Ferraz was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. In the 34th minute, I.M.L's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Giovani Alves fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Geral Grêmio's José Pedro Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sidnei Ferraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Pedro Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giovani Alves in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sidnei Ferraz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When José Pedro Santos came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Geral Grêmio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Pedro Santos couldn't finish the play. Anderson de Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chiquinho Paes having to interfere. Sidnei Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Pedro Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

52 minutes into the match, Geral Grêmio's José Pedro Santos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sidnei Ferraz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sidnei Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Pedro Santos in the 57th minute of play. José Pedro Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 69 minutes into the game, Geral Grêmio's Giovani Alves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sidnei Ferraz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 74 minutes into the match, I.M.L's goal looked a bit too open when José Pedro Santos came free, but Sidnei Ferraz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to I.M.L getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Luís Fábio Vander hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Geral Grêmio's Otávio Ceresso tried to score from far away in the 77th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. José Pedro Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei Ferraz having to interfere. After 80 played minutes I.M.L got a freekick which was hit by Fiori Queiroz. Sidnei Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giovani Alves in the 81st minute of play. I.M.L's Anderson de Moraes got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Pedro Santos in the 86th minute of play forced I.M.L's goalkeeper Sidnei Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giovani Alves scored 3-0 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sidnei Ferraz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Giovani Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sidnei Ferraz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Flavinho Corrêa went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. For all the effort they put into the match, the I.M.L players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Geral Grêmio.
