Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) José Pedro Santos started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 4th match minute, Laranjeiras FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorival Pinheiro to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Otávio Ceresso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Geral Grêmio's supporters rose to their feet, but Otávio Ceresso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Allan Marinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Geral Grêmio's Chiquinho Paes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristóvão Arce in the 12th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Baltazar Esteves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Geral Grêmio booed when Laranjeiras FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agostinho Barreto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Flavinho Corrêa notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Laranjeiras FC's Allan Marinho. Allan Marinho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 22nd minute, Elias dos Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Laranjeiras FC's zone, Giovani Alves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Allan Marinho came out of the goal and Giovani Alves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Allan Marinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavinho Corrêa in the 34th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Pedro Santos in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Allan Marinho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 44 minutes Laranjeiras FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Otávio Ceresso who took care of the corner kick. Otávio Ceresso made a great header on Geral Grêmio's corner, it was just that Laranjeiras FC's Allan Marinho managed to reach the ball for a save. After having played for 46 minutes, José Pedro Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Geral Grêmio's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Pedro Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cristóvão Arce to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Giovani Alves made a precise shot to the right of Allan Marinho. Laranjeiras FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Agostinho Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Allan Marinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Pedro Santos in the 66th minute of play. In the 71st minute José Pedro Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allan Marinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giovani Alves's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 76thth minute, Allan Marinho skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Giovani Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Baltazar Esteves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chiquinho Paes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristóvão Arce, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Flavinho Corrêa during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After recieving a nice pass, Laranjeiras FC's Mazinho Marques tried to score from far away in the 91st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. José Pedro Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Geral Grêmio left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Laranjeiras FC.
