If Cleiton Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as BRASIL's Eusébio Sergipano slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Osvaldo Aguiar. That made the score 1-0 after 17 minutes of play. Osvaldo Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusébio Sergipano, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Wiliam Moura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. BRASIL's Elano Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cleiton Vieira in the 34th minute of play. In the 36th minute Cleiton Vieira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elano Torres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in BRASIL's zone, Wiliam Moura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elano Torres came out of the goal and Wiliam Moura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to BRASIL getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Mané Travassos hit a great ball. Fiori Eger missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 40 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Elano Torres right hand side. After 42 minutes, Cleiton Vieira made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. BRASIL's Elano Torres tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eusébio Sergipano made a kick off. With a little luck, BRASIL's Elano Torres got control of the ball when Adilson Pires tried to sneak it across the goal line. Adilson Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Elano Torres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Cleiton Vieira reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Elano Torres. The goal made the score 1-3. Adilson Pires succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-4 in the 76th playminute. When Cleiton Vieira in the 79th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Elano Torres kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-5 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. In the 83rd minute, BRASIL's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Wiliam Moura fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. A hard shot 86 in the game by Cleiton Vieira from a close distance when the talented Elano Torres managed to make a qualified save. BRASIL's players were relieved. Osvaldo Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldemar de Godoi in the 87th minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Eusébio Sergipano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-5. Osvaldo Aguiar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Wiliam Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elano Torres having to interfere.
