A collision led to EspartaFC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Jonathan Amaral hit a great ball. In the 14th minute, Waldir Pernambucano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. EspartaFC's Genílson Ribeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abelardo Quintal in the 15th minute of play. Abelardo Quintal scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Genílson Ribeiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Genílson Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Quintal, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. The Palmeiras Tem Mundial players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
