The nice shot from Rodolfo de Souza in the 31stth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Elói Cruz had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. If Rodolfo de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elói Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrado Velloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 76th minute, Conrado Velloso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Patrick Favoretto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th minute of the match Sílvio Luís França sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elói Cruz skillfully saved the ball. Velho's Toninho Furtado got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
