The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jorginho Miranda in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg 沈德誉 saved Caripi AD from getting behind. Caripi AD's goalie 沈德誉 was quick on his feet when Rodrigo Maciel aimed and made a shot towards the top left corner. The goalie picked down the ball without great difficulties. The supporters of Fortaleza EC booed when Caripi AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aníbal Palmeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the game, Oswaldo Valladares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fortaleza EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caripi AD the free kick. Mazinho Matorin, 14 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 15 played minutes Fortaleza EC got a freekick which was hit by Oswaldo Valladares. Nilson de Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Roberto Dantas having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Jorginho Miranda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Rodrigo Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Fortaleza EC booed when Caripi AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aníbal Palmeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the last second 沈德誉 throw himself and got hold of the ball when Jorginho Miranda in the 33rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Jorginho Miranda struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. 沈德誉 didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fortaleza EC. If Rodrigo Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Jorginho Miranda's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but 沈德誉 was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. In the 43rd match minute, Caripi AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldão Custódio to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute Jorginho Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 沈德誉 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jorginho Miranda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Fortaleza EC's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Dantas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aníbal Palmeira. Egídio Barreto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Zé Roberto Dantas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Caripi AD's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo Maciel came free, but 沈德誉 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 74 played minutes, Fortaleza EC's Clemente Linhares shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper 沈德誉 came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fortaleza EC reached it. Rodrigo Maciel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 沈德誉 having to interfere. Nestor Travassos kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, Rodrigo Maciel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of 沈德誉. Caripi AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodrigo Maciel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Rodrigo Maciel struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. 沈德誉 didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fortaleza EC. Caripi AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. 沈德誉 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo Maciel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorginho Miranda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 沈德誉 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 98th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Fortaleza EC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
