Arthur Falcão started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Tavares FC's Antônio Carlos de Alcântara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alberto Vidal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 5 minutes into the match, Antônio Carlos de Alcântara had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alberto Vidal. Faca na Caveira FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antônio Carlos de Alcântara was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The supporters of Faca na Caveira FC booed when Tavares FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. William da Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tavares FC's Víktor Lira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remo Gonçalves in the 12th minute of play. Faca na Caveira FC's Remo Gonçalves got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Breno de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Breno de Sena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Víktor Lira made a huge save. Caetano Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Víktor Lira having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Cacá da Cunha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Víktor Lira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Breno de Sena went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Víktor Lira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Caetano Eger's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Víktor Lira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remo Gonçalves in the 57th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antônio Carlos de Alcântara got free with Alberto Vidal in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arthur Falcão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Víktor Lira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Eger in the 69th minute of play. Faca na Caveira FC's Breno de Sena got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Caetano Eger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Víktor Lira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th minute, William da Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Caetano Eger struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Víktor Lira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Faca na Caveira FC. Tavares FC's Víktor Lira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breno de Sena in the 77th minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Arthur Falcão reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Alberto Vidal. The goal made the score 1-2. In the 85th minute, William da Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Víktor Lira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Breno de Sena's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. In the 99th minute of the match Tavares FC got a corner. Faca na Caveira FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Durval Santos ran over to the corner to take the kick. André Luís de Castro thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Alberto Vidal, a very annoying self made goal in the 99th minute which led to 1-3. The Tavares FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tavares FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
