In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atlético Guaíba Football's goalkeeper Oğuz İltemur, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Oğuz İltemur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélio Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the match, Hélio Lima dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Oğuz İltemur, 1-0. Jardel Machado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Oğuz İltemur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 28 played minutes Atlético Guaíba Football got a freekick which was hit by Hernani Rosado. Anderson Pimenta, 29 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Jardel Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hernani Rosado's late challenge caught a BARCELONA F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hernani Rosado helped the player get up and apologised. In the 36th match minute, Atlético Guaíba Football was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hernani Rosado to maneuver through the defense. João Francisco Baiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gugu Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gugu Lima to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Atlético Guaíba Football defense, Hélio Lima kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oğuz İltemur. The Atlético Guaíba Football fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oğuz İltemur should have stopped the shot. Oğuz İltemur came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by BARCELONA F.C's Jardel Machado. But to his dismay, Jardel Machado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Giovani Severo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. João Francisco Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oğuz İltemur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiago Porto in the 66th minute of the match. Oğuz İltemur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jardel Machado, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Abelardo Rocha hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. The supporters of Atlético Guaíba Football booed when BARCELONA F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Porto didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jardel Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Hernani Rosado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Guaíba Football's supporters rose to their feet, but Hernani Rosado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Francisco Baiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in BARCELONA F.C's zone, Gugu Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Francisco Baiano came out of the goal and Gugu Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 91st minute, Gugu Lima fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Gugu Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Guaíba Football's supporters rose to their feet, but Gugu Lima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Francisco Baiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Gugu Lima came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Atlético Guaíba Football fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gugu Lima couldn't finish the play. Atlético Guaíba Football's Gugu Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Many of Atlético Guaíba Football's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Atlético Guaíba Football may have spent more time on the ball, but BARCELONA F.C were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
