In the 3rd minute, Sidney Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Francisco Baiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Glauco dos Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Glauco dos Santos took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised João Francisco Baiano. João Francisco Baiano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 10th minute, Luís Gustavo Freire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Luís Gustavo Freire fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Potreiro's protests and gave Luís Gustavo Freire a yellow card for diving instead. Luís Gustavo Freire kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 15th match minute, Potreiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Glauco dos Santos to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Potreiro getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Fiori Marques hit a great ball. After 18 played minutes Potreiro got a freekick which was hit by Cesinha Vianna. In the 19th minute of the match Anderson Pimenta sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dráusio do Vale skillfully saved the ball. Glauco dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 24 played minutes BARCELONA F.C got a freekick which was hit by Davi das Neves. In the 35th minute Jardel Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dráusio do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Glauco dos Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. João Francisco Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute of the match, André Tavares tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but João Francisco Baiano saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. João Francisco Baiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Tavares, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Glauco dos Santos was the one to do the kick off. Potreiro's defense didn't have a chance, in the 56th minute, when Abelardo Rocha scored to the left of an out of position Dráusio do Vale, making the score, 2-1. Sidney Cardoso kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. João Francisco Baiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Glauco dos Santos in the 60th minute of play. Glauco dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 63 played minutes BARCELONA F.C got a freekick which was hit by Hélio Lima. André Tavares struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. João Francisco Baiano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Potreiro. In the 67th minute, Glauco dos Santos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 72 minutes, Fiori Marques managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Potreiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fiori Marques was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Potreiro getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Luís Gustavo Freire hit a great ball. If Glauco dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Francisco Baiano came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Potreiro's Glauco dos Santos. But to his dismay, Glauco dos Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. The supporters of BARCELONA F.C booed when Potreiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Gustavo Freire didn't get a good kick on the ball. Glauco dos Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Francisco Baiano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Glauco dos Santos ran back to his position shaking his head. Glauco dos Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, André Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Potreiro's supporters rose to their feet, but André Tavares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Francisco Baiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Potreiro's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
