Oğuz İltemur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 22 played minutes Potreiro got a freekick which was hit by Erik Ortiz. Glauco dos Santos scored 0-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Oğuz İltemur, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Potreiro's José Pedro Maia quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alfredinho Ceresso, made in the 33rd minute of the game. Oğuz İltemur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Glauco dos Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Giovani Severo's late challenge caught a Potreiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Giovani Severo helped the player get up and apologised. After 38 played minutes Atlético Guaíba Football got a freekick which was hit by Giovani Severo. In the 39th minute, Glauco dos Santos made a precise shot to the right of Oğuz İltemur. Atlético Guaíba Football's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After the first half Potreiro were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gugu Lima to make the kick off. A well-hit corner resulted in Luís Gustavo Freire heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 61 minutes into the game, Gugu Lima was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atlético Guaíba Football's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Potreiro the free kick. After 61 played minutes Atlético Guaíba Football got a freekick which was hit by Gugu Lima. 62 minutes into the match, Atlético Guaíba Football's goalkeeper Oğuz İltemur had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Glauco dos Santos. 64 minutes into the match, Potreiro's goal looked a bit too open when Gugu Lima came free, but Dráusio do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Luís Gustavo Freire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Glauco dos Santos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oğuz İltemur read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Potreiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Glauco dos Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oğuz İltemur breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 86 minutes of play Atlético Guaíba Football's Gugu Lima was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Potreiro booed when Atlético Guaíba Football was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gugu Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Atlético Guaíba Football fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Potreiro were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
