Afonso Trancoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anselmo Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. If Moisés Camargo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Moisés Camargo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Franklin Arantes having to make a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Vila Palmeiras FC's Afonso Trancoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Abreu in the 53rd minute of play. Afonso Trancoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Carlos Tande in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd match minute, Paraiso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo Abreu to maneuver through the defense. William Bittencourt kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. 66 minutes into the game, Paraiso's José Carlos Tande nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Afonso Trancoso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. During the 69th minute of the match Paulo Renato de Amaral completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Paulo Renato de Amaral a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 70th minute, Paulo Renato de Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Abreu in the 71st minute of play forced Vila Palmeiras FC's goalkeeper Afonso Trancoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Carlos Tande recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If João Carlos Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Carlos Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vila Palmeiras FC's Moisés Camargo got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Vila Palmeiras FC booed when Paraiso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tião Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paraiso's Franklin Arantes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Paraiso from getting a goal against them. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
