Santa AD's Eurico Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delfim Amaral in the 12th minute of play. 13 minutes into the game, Abel Perez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santa AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Goiabal AD the free kick. Abel Perez hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Diguinho Baiano made in the 20th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Matías de Carvalho immediately put the ball in play. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Matías de Carvalho took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Eurico Gerber to make any attempt to save it. Eurico Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilson Nascimento in the 29th minute of the match. Eurico Gerber was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Wilson Nascimento capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Wilson Nascimento really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. When Gilson Leal, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 40 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Abelardo do Nascimento was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After 42 minutes, Raimundo Albuquerque mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santa AD and the Goiabal AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. Raimundo Albuquerque kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Matías de Carvalho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 60th minute Murillo Sabóia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eurico Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Matías de Carvalho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Goiabal AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. 70 minutes into the match, Goiabal AD's goalkeeper Abelardo do Nascimento had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Murilo Fagundes. Eurico Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matías de Carvalho in the 76th minute of play. Santa AD's Eurico Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matías de Carvalho in the 77th minute of play. Murillo Sabóia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Eurico Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eurico Gerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matías de Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. If Gilson Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute Murillo Sabóia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eurico Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Abel Perez was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 93 minutes had been played. Matías de Carvalho spun around in front of the goal 95 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Santa AD's goal. When the referee ended the match the Goiabal AD players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
