After 24 played minutes Agronomia FC got a freekick which was hit by Giuseppe Carvalho. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilson Leal in the 27th minute of play forced Agronomia FC's goalkeeper Arnaldo de Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agronomia FC's attentive Giuseppe Carvalho managed to snatch the ball when Jardel Mendes made a throw-in in the 39th minute of the game. In the 44th minute Nestor Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eurico Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Eurico Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Alcântara in the 52nd minute of play. Gilson Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nestor Alcântara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 79 minutes into the match, Santa AD's goal looked a bit too open when Nestor Alcântara came free, but Eurico Gerber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Giuseppe Carvalho got a throw-in 80 minutes in the game and the ball was received by André Luiz Coelho. Nestor Alcântara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kléberson Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eurico Gerber having to interfere. Santa AD's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
