Raimundo Albuquerque's late challenge caught a Liverpool FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raimundo Albuquerque helped the player get up and apologised. Liverpool FC's Caetano Prado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Liverpool FC from getting a goal against them. Eurico Gerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvério Prado, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. 10 minutes into the game, Abel Perez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santa AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Liverpool FC the free kick. Abel Perez hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Nuno Macedo struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Eurico Gerber didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liverpool FC. In the 13th minute, Nuno Macedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eurico Gerber was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 18 minutes into the match, Santa AD's goal looked a bit too open when Nuno Macedo came free, but Eurico Gerber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Santa AD's Raimundo Albuquerque got his second yellow card of the match in the 24th minute. The referee ordered Raimundo Albuquerque off the ground. Raimundo Albuquerque kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Nuno Macedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Eurico Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Nuno Macedo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Liverpool FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Santa AD were furious when Belmiro de Azevedo was red carded, 37 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Macedo in the 42nd minute of play forced Santa AD's goalkeeper Eurico Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45thth minute of the game Silvério Prado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santa AD's Eurico Gerber was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nuno Macedo took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eurico Gerber. Eurico Gerber dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Caetano Prado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorian Leite in the 59th minute of play. Nuno Macedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 62 minutes into the game, Dorian Leite was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santa AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Liverpool FC the free kick. 65 minutes into the match, Santa AD's goalkeeper Eurico Gerber had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silvério Prado. Silvério Prado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eurico Gerber made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Silvério Prado sent off a good shot on target. Silvério Prado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eurico Gerber having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Liverpool FC's Silvério Prado slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eurico Gerber. That made the score 0-5 after 74 minutes of play. 77 minutes into the match, Liverpool FC's Nuno Macedo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eurico Gerber narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 86 minutes into the match, Santa AD's goalkeeper Eurico Gerber had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silvério Prado. The corner led to Liverpool FC's Nuno Macedo getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. With a little luck, Santa AD's Eurico Gerber got control of the ball when Silvério Prado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Santa AD's Eurico Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Macedo in the 93rd minute of play. Eurico Gerber was out of position in the 94 minute of play, and Nuno Macedo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nuno Macedo really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. Eurico Gerber made a fantastic save in the 99th minute, when Silvério Prado sent off a good shot on target. Liverpool FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
