The supporters of Croquete FC booed when Pinto EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastião Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claudinei Gaúcho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William de Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fernando Quadros in the 5th minute of play forced Pinto EC's goalkeeper Claudinei Gaúcho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. William de Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilson Guedes kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 14th match minute, Croquete FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé de Sousa to maneuver through the defense. When Albertinho Saldanha fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Croquete FC's protests and gave Albertinho Saldanha a yellow card for diving instead. José Paulo Trevisan acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 22nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Dagoberto dos Santos. Patrick Recife could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but José Paulo Trevisan made a huge save. A hard shot by Rômulo Baptista from long distance, 26 minutes into the match, got José Paulo Trevisan's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Croquete FC's William de Amorim in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Sebastião Nogueira's late challenge caught a Croquete FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sebastião Nogueira helped the player get up and apologised. Croquete FC made a substitution. Ciro Saldanha replaced Válbson Silva. Sebastião Nogueira hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute Zé de Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinei Gaúcho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for William de Amorim to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franklin Fonseca in the 69th minute of play forced Croquete FC's goalkeeper José Paulo Trevisan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Pinto EC's Claudinei Gaúcho got control of the ball when Luís Fernando Quadros tried to sneak it across the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Croquete FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wilson Guedes came free, but José Paulo Trevisan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Fernando Quadros couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilson Guedes in the 82nd minute of play forced Croquete FC's goalkeeper José Paulo Trevisan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Croquete FC defense, Laerte Antunes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Paulo Trevisan. The Croquete FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Paulo Trevisan should have stopped the shot. 88 minutes into the game, Pinto EC's Laerte Antunes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. José Paulo Trevisan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. After a defensive mix-up in Croquete FC's zone, Patrick Recife stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Paulo Trevisan came out of the goal and Patrick Recife tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Zé Augusto Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute.
