Maruai's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Senin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Caetano Pitta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Osvaldo Saldanha charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Osvaldo Saldanha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Maruai booed when Synthroid Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldo Saldanha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 26 minutes, Tamer Açıker made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Synthroid Football Club's Caetano Pitta tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 0-3 became the score in the 30th minute when Tamer Açıker elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Francisco Senin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Caetano Pitta was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. In the 35th minute of the match Maruai got a corner. Synthroid Football Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Caetano Pitta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Synthroid Football Club's zone, Francisco Senin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Caetano Pitta came out of the goal and Francisco Senin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Francisco Senin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Caetano Pitta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tamer Açıker in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Caetano Pitta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half Maruai were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Pedro Gomes got free with Caetano Pitta in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 56th minute, Maruai's Tamer Açıker ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Caetano Pitta. Caetano Pitta yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. After a rather tough play, Maruai's Arthur Gomes got a free kick in the 61st minute. Zé Pedro Gomess short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Caetano Pitta to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Caetano Pitta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tamer Açıker in the 73rd minute of the match. Armandinho Travassos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvaldo Saldanha, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. A collision led to Synthroid Football Club getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Breno Vieira hit a great ball. Tamer Açıker did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-5 to the left of a surprised Caetano Pitta 79 minutes into the match. Caetano Pitta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tamer Açıker, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Synthroid Football Club's goalkeeper Caetano Pitta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Senin. After having played for 91 minutes, Váldson Tande managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maruai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Váldson Tande was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 94 minutes into the match, Osvaldo Saldanha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Armandinho Travassos. Maruai's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Osvaldo Saldanha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. Maruai's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
