The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Otávio Berger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Lima in the 3rd minute of the match. If Eduardo Cearense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of GogomoleFC booed when Heavy Metal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Allan Barreto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Heavy Metal's Allan Barreto got a free kick in the 11th minute. 12 minutes into the match, GogomoleFC's Olavo Pinheiro broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 14 minutes into the match, Heavy Metal's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Lima came free, but Otávio Berger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Otávio Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, GogomoleFC's Eduardo Cearense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Otávio Berger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Heavy Metal's Décio Chaves shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 19th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Kauã de Queirós but with some difficulty. After a defensive mix-up in GogomoleFC's zone, Luís Guilherme Pires stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kauã de Queirós came out of the goal and Luís Guilherme Pires tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luís Guilherme Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kauã de Queirós having to interfere. Kauã de Queirós was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luís Guilherme Pires showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 31 minute of play. Elias Toscano kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Christian Lima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Eduardo Cearense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alfredo Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th match minute, Heavy Metal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giovani Abreu to maneuver through the defense. Elias Toscano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Otávio Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Allan Barreto during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Allan Barreto hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match.
