Wellington Aguiar scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vivaldo Vander, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aílton Pitta in the 47th minute of play forced Roncador's goalkeeper Vivaldo Vander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aílton Pitta made a kick off. Francisco Macedo hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. The Roncador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Wellington Aguiar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vivaldo Vander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aílton Pitta, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Aílton Pitta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Vivaldo Vander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vivaldo Vander made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wellington Aguiar in the 71st minute. Wellington Aguiar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Vivaldo Vander made a huge save. Alfredão Nascimento's late challenge caught a Grêmio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredão Nascimento helped the player get up and apologised. Alfredão Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 75th minute, one of Roncador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Roncador. Jeferson Cerezo hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. If Aílton Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Roncador's goalkeeper Vivaldo Vander, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wellington Aguiar during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 92nd match minute, Grêmio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wellington Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. Roncador's Vivaldo Vander proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to save Roncador from getting a goal against them. The Roncador fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Grêmio were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
