The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In a very dangerous position, a player in Heavy Metal fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 7th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 9 minutes, S.C Internacional's Tostão de Toledo got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Otávio Berger. S.C Internacional were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Heavy Metal's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tostão de Toledo took the corner. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iuri Fantini in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Otávio Berger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iuri Fantini in the 27th minute of play forced Heavy Metal's goalkeeper Otávio Berger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Heavy Metal's Otávio Berger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Heavy Metal from getting a goal against them. If Alfredo Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Otávio Berger made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Humberto Penha sent off a good shot on target. Hudson Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iuri Fantini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otávio Berger having to interfere. Dráusio Toledo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 46th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Iuri Fantini made a kick off. A very good chance. 90 minutes into the game, S.C Internacional's Iuri Fantini nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Otávio Berger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Hudson Coelho struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Otávio Berger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S.C Internacional.
