When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Maicon Freitas made a kick off. Wellington Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute Aílton Pitta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osmar Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Wellington Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Grêmio getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Aílton Pitta hit a great ball. After 72 played minutes Inhapi got a freekick which was hit by Edmundo Bueno. Inhapi's Maicon Freitas got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ronaldão Vergílio hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Maicon Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sílvio Luís Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maicon Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Wellington Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grêmio's supporters rose to their feet, but Wellington Aguiar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osmar Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Maicon Freitas took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Sílvio Luís Quadros to make any attempt to save it. The Inhapi supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Inhapi would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
