After a defensive mix-up in Stars Hollow's zone, David da Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leandro Camargo came out of the goal and David da Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Francisco Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Leandro Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leandro Camargo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Azevedo in the 17th minute of play. Lenílson Pereira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dedê Ramos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fausto Dionísio in the 26th minute. Hamburgo's Dedê Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lenílson Pereira in the 27th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yan Mazza in the 30th minute of play forced Stars Hollow's goalkeeper Leandro Camargo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Hamburgo's David da Fonseca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leandro Camargo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Leandro Camargo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Azevedo in the 34th minute of the match. A collision led to Hamburgo getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Yan Mazza hit a great ball. Hamburgo's Dedê Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lenílson Pereira in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 44th minute by Sílvio Luís Romero got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Fausto Dionísio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dedê Ramos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. The supporters of Stars Hollow booed when Hamburgo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yan Mazza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bebeto Veiga hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Dedê Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto Dionísio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Hamburgo's Yan Mazza got a free kick in the 60th minute. If Fausto Dionísio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With 73 minutes on the clock, Roberto de Castro commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 75th minute there was a penalty for Stars Hollow. Fabinho Melo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dedê Ramos. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lenílson Pereira in the 78th minute of play forced Hamburgo's goalkeeper Dedê Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Francisco Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hamburgo's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Azevedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leandro Camargo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Yan Mazza struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Leandro Camargo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hamburgo. Lenílson Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the match, Stars Hollow's Lenílson Pereira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dedê Ramos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, Lenílson Pereira notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Hamburgo's Dedê Ramos. Dedê Ramos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 99 minutes into the game, Stars Hollow's Lenílson Pereira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dedê Ramos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the Hamburgo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Stars Hollow.
