Spectators: 7197 (Terracing: 5399, Seating: 1655, VIP seats: 143) Pirangy FC's Reynaldo Brodel started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Pirangy FC's Zé Carlos Paraibano got a free kick in the 7th minute. Paulo Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Pirangy FC booed when Esmeraldas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Gonçalves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Esmeraldas's Paulo Gonçalves got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Matheus Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Gonçalves in the 20th minute of play. Matheus Gerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Reynaldo Brodel hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Celsinho Romero ran over to the corner to take the kick. Celsinho Romero made a great header on Esmeraldas's corner, it was just that Pirangy FC's Matheus Gerber managed to reach the ball for a save. Leopoldo Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Matheus Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulo Gonçalves during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 33rd minute, Paulo Gonçalves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulo Gonçalves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mateus Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Matheus Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Gonçalves was the one to do the kick off. When Reynaldo Brodel came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Pirangy FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reynaldo Brodel couldn't finish the play. Reynaldo Brodel's late challenge caught a Esmeraldas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reynaldo Brodel helped the player get up and apologised. In the 62nd match minute, Pirangy FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reynaldo Brodel to maneuver through the defense. If Paulo Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 71st minute by Paulo Gonçalves got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 74 minutes into the match, Reynaldo Brodel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nuno da Rocha. Esmeraldas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reynaldo Brodel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 78 minutes into the game, Esmeraldas's Mateus Figueiredo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matheus Gerber made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Paulo Gonçalves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Matheus Gerber having to make a save. After having played for 86 minutes, Zé Eger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esmeraldas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Eger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 89th minute, Pedro Augusto de Queiroz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pirangy FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Valter Geromel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Nuno da Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Pirangy FC were the better team. Pirangy FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
