Cacá Guimarães stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raí Cunha's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. After 5 minutes, Rodriguinho França mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ouricana FC and the Calabar players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Ouricana FC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Rodriguinho França hit a great ball. The supporters of Calabar booed when Ouricana FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeferson Paraíba didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flavinho Maciel, 7 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Norberto Meireles came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Ouricana FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norberto Meireles couldn't finish the play. Osvaldo Velloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Cacá Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cacá Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raí Cunha in the 33rd minute of play. Osvaldo Velloso scored 0-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cacá Guimarães, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 39 minutes, Gil Ribeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Calabar and the Ouricana FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gil Ribeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. With his leg Alex Cooper managed to avoid a goal in the 42ndth minute, when Ouricana FC's Teodoro Furlan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Cacá Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo Velloso in the 43rd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raí Cunha to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Teodoro Furlan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alex Cooper came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ouricana FC's Norberto Meireles. But to his dismay, Norberto Meireles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 67th minute, Ouricana FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Osvaldo Velloso fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 68th match minute, Ouricana FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rubens Baptista to maneuver through the defense. When Calabar's Raí Cunha in 69 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Cacá Guimarães guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. The supporters of Calabar booed when Ouricana FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benê Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Norberto Meireles's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alex Cooper read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Cacá Guimarães made an important save on a dangerous shot by Osvaldo Velloso in the 81st minute. 84 minutes into the match, Ouricana FC's goalkeeper Cacá Guimarães had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Osvaldo Velloso. If Enrique Souto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ouricana FC's Cacá Guimarães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Ouricana FC from getting a goal against them. Calabar played a much better game than Ouricana FC and deserved their victory. The Ouricana FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
